Thincast Remote Desktop Client is a free multi-platform RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) Client based on FreeRDP for Linux, macOS and Windows.

It comes with a variety of modern features and can be integrated very easily into your existing infrastructure.

Using the Remote Desktop (RD) WebAccess Client you gain easy access to and control of published virtual machines (with Thincast Workstation), desktop sessions and applications.

Hardware-accelerated video decoding to extend the battery life of your device, ideal when working on the go.

Use Thincast Client to connect to a remote PC or to virtual applications and desktops provided by your system administrator.

Thincast Client supports x64 environments.

Memory and storage

Thincast Client requires between 100 MB and 300 MB of RAM and around 50 MB of hard disk space.

Hardware drawing and video decoding are supported with the following graphics cards:

  • Are ARM based devices supported?

    64-bit ARM based devices like Apple M or Rapberry Pi are supported.

  • Is the client free to use?

    Yes, for private usage our client application can be downloaded and used for free on every platform.

  • Am I allowed to (re)distribute Thincast Client?

    The standard Thincast Client license agreement does not allow commercial (re)distribution and doing so would require a individual agreement with Thincast Technologies GmbH. In case you are a manufacturer and would like to (re)distribute or integrate our client application, please contact us in advance.

  • I'd like to roll out Thincast Client in our university. Where is the GPDR documentation?

    Crash reports
    In some situations our support requires you to upload a Thincast support request package. We can use a support request package to reproduce and find problems in situations where we require additional information or when crashes happen. Depending on the product the TSRP can contain different types of data. Further details can be found in our privacy policy under Thincast Support Request Package (TSRP).
